mermaid of the san francisco bay.

img_4128happy friday! i hope you get to carve pumpkins, attend halloween parties, and eat alllll the candy your heart desires.

i’m so excited to share with you my halloween look this year! since this was the first time we’ve lived by the ocean, i knew i had to do a mermaid theme and channel my inner Ariel. i found this shimmery green dress and decided to get my hair and mermaid makeup done by Be Glammed as a fun and simple way to dress up!

Be Glammed is an awesome on-demand beauty service that’s available in many cities in the US and Canada. basically, instead of running from appointment to appointment to get hair and makeup done for any event or party {there’s even bridal packages!}, professionals come to you! it’s the best! my mermaid hair and makeup was done in less than three hours at home and all i had to do was slip on my dress and head to my shoot location. no stress, so easy, and all payment is done via their website or app. you can use code ‘SARAH20‘ to get 20% off beauty services for a limited time!

we shot these photos at Marshall’s Beach, which is just north of Baker Beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. this beach is way less crowded than Baker and the view is still unreal. it’s a bit of a hike down, but so worth it! we were there just in time for sunset and i can’t get over the lighting in these photos! i’m definitely oversharing me frolicking on this beach and in the breaking waves pretending to be a mermaid, but i just loved this shoot. anddd i definitely got half my dress wet at one point! but life in the sea is better than anything they’ve got up there! ;]

thanks for reading, babes! have the best weekend. xximg_4072 img_3962 img_4088 img_4044 img_4033 img_4049 img_3763 img_3679 img_3985 img_3889 img_4040 img_3959 img_3841 img_3998 img_4092 img_3680 img_3797 img_3846 img_4133 img_4050 img_4086 img_4151 img_4073 img_3839 img_4087 img_4065 img_3775 img_4021 img_3973 img_3830 img_4148 img_4115 img_3978 img_3815 img_3787 img_4118 img_3971 img_4068 img_4144 img_3799 img_3991 img_4066green shimmer wrap dress {navy color here}

pastorino farms pumpkin patch.

pumpkin-9-of-16last weekend, robbie and i drove to the pumpkin patch at Pastorino Farms in Half Moon Bay! it was supposed to be an hour drive, but ended up being two hours with traffic. luckily, it was saturday and we had no other plans. but boy were we ready to get out of the car when we arrived! this pumpkin patch is mostly for little kids, but it’s definitely perfect for fun photos and we both enjoyed our time! andddd eating pumpkin pie helped. be sure to park across the street where there’s free parking!

for these photos, i decided to go with an autumnal look. when i saw this faux suede pinafore dress with the embroidered flowers, i knew it would make for the perfect outfit! the trendy bell sleeved sweater underneath was the best lightweight layering piece. can’t wait to pair it with jeans and booties, too! since there’s usually mud at pumpkin patches, i opted for my pink Hunter boots. i’m sure glad i did! i was hoping this pumpkin patch would have some apple cider donuts, but sadly they didn’t. need to find some ASAP! any suggestions in the Bay Area?

did you catch the sneak peek of my Halloween costume this year?! i’ll be sharing all the photos on Friday! stay tuned. xxpumpkin-16-of-16 pumpkin-5-of-16 pumpkin-15-of-16 pumpkin-10-of-16 pumpkin-1-of-16 pumpkin-6-of-16pumpkin-8-of-16 pumpkin-3-of-16 pumpkin-14-of-16 pumpkin-13-of-16 pumpkin-12-of-16 pumpkin-11-of-16 pumpkin-7-of-16 pumpkin-2-of-16faux suede pinafore dress

velvet x velvet.

tfox2448i’m sure you’ve all noticed by now how huge the velvet trend is this season! it’s such a fabulous texture and i’ve been having so much fun styling it in various ways {see herehere, & here}. pretty sure my dress for our Christmas card this year will be in velvet, but that’s a secret that stays between you and me! ;]

in today’s look, i decided to take things to the extreme and style velvet on velvet. this black mini dress is such a fun little piece and the lace edges are so gorgeous. i found these red velvet over the knee boots and even though i was waitlisted for them, i was able to snag them! i couldn’t be more in love with this style and the red velvet was the icing on the cake. you can find almost an identical pair without the wait here. pairing these two items together makes for a chic and edgy look! i even wore this outfit to a store opening event last week here in SF and received so many compliments because these OTK boots look extremely similar to the expensive Stuart Weitzman version. remember when t. swift wore them here!? she was my inspiration for the purchase!

lastly, i’m so excited to share with you a local jewelry shop today! my stardust handchain is from Embellish Marin, located just across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Anselmo in Marin County. it’s a family owned business and everything is made to order by local artisans. i absolutely love the combination of rose gold {my favorite!} and silver in this druzzy stone piece. not to mention, it’s made by California Gem, who sells exclusively at Embellish and is SIXTEEN years old. how talented is she?! she also has ready to wear on sale in the shop and takes custom orders.

i love how unique this jewelry piece is! i have nothing like it and later this week i’m showing you another way i styled it. stay tuned for a giveaway to Embellish Marin this evening! xxtfox2445 tfox2452 tfox2388 tfox2432 tfox2399 wmpr6076 tfox2436 tfox2420 tfox2383 tfox2408 wmpr6069 tfox2422 tfox2438 wmpr6078black velvet mini dress
