15 things to do in New York City during the holidays.

we spent Thanksgiving this year in New York City with my family, and so many of you commented you were traveling there for the holidays too and wanted some suggestions! it’s always been my dream of being in the Big Apple for the holiday festivities, so this was a really fun trip for me. plus, i finally got to attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and check it off my bucket list! my sweet dad and brother woke up at 6am to get us all front row spots {the parade didn’t even reach our spot until almost 10am}, and even though they were frozen by the time it started, it was pure magic for me. i never need to do it again {it was so cold and standing for hours frozen is hard, haha!}, but it’s always fun checking these special moments off my list.

this trip to NYC marks six trips to the city this year {and for those of you who might be new, i lived there for a summer during college}, so you could say i know my way around Manhattan. but since it was my first time there during the holidays, it was so magical to see all of the decor and do all the fun holiday activities. so, without further ado…

15 things to do in New York City during the holidays:

1. go ice-skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park
2. see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center
3. watch the Saks Fifth Avenue light show at night
4. walk up and down 5th Ave to see the amazing window displays at all the high-end stores
5. attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
6. brunch at Sarabeth’s {we did Thanksgiving dinner there!}
7. attend the Rockette’s Christmas Spectacular at Radio City
8. snag a photo opp at Top of the Rock {best views of the city!}
9. go to Winter Village at Bryant Park {little shops, ice-skating, stuffed nutella churros!!!}
10. see the holiday train show at Grand Central Station
11. dress up for a formal date night at Ralph Lauren’s ritzy The Polo Bar
12. have Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Blue Box Cafe {just opened last month!}
13. attend the Louis Vuitton Volez Voguez Voyagez exhibition {free to the public & open til January!}
14. cruise on over to see the Statue of Liberty {good old classic tourist activity}
15. go see the nativity at St. Patrick’s Cathedral {on 5th Ave by Saks}

{happier than a clam at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade… Santa in the background!}

    Great list of NYC Christmas sights. I would add one more – the Metropolitan Museum of Art Christmas tree.

    I so enjoyed seeing all your Instagram stories while you were on this trip. I have to admit I was crazy jealous that you got to see the parade in person. I’ve watched it on TV every year since I was a little girl and it looks so incredible. I hope I get to take a trip to NYC sometime soon!
