top four spring trends.

HaleyNordPhotography (49 of 100)ready or not, spring is on its way! i think it’s safe to speak for the majority of us when i say we are definitely ready for spring. well, mentally, anyway {it snowed again monday night}.

as far as spring fashion goes, it’s pretty difficult to go shopping for flirty floral frocks when it’s still boot weather. but as temperatures are slowly rising and we’re seeing more and more of the sun, it’s finally acceptable to start {seriously} thinking about spring fashion. it’s time to hike up the hems and seek new styles because spring is no longer a distant daydream {official start is March 20th}!

with that being said, there are some major trends for spring that you will need to know before you give your wardrobe a seasonal update. keep a lookout for the four biggest trends of spring, and there’s no doubt that you’ll be stylish all season long. i just have one piece of advice… prepare for some major throwbacks!

Slip Dress
first from the archives is the slip dress straight out of the ‘90s. one of Kate Moss’ staples during her heyday, this slinky number is sure to exude confidence & sass. keep it on the sartorial side with masculine accessories {like a sleek leather jacket tied around the waste} and minimal makeup.

‘70s Prints
for your second spring style throwback {pictured in this blog post}, rewind even further to the groovy days of psychedelic prints in the Seventies. fun and just a tad whimsical, bold prints are perfect for weekend wear. when searching for the quintessential spring florals, tune your eye to the burnout styles, which will be much more on-trend than the usual floral prints that often saturate the market this time of year.

Tie-Dye
keeping in line with the retro theme, tie-dye has made a major comeback for spring 2016. colors are not shy this season {say goodbye to pastels!}, so use this opportunity to wear playful tie-dye dresses and boho rompers that are a cut above hippie fashion. dip-dye has never looked so chic.

Bold Stripes
nautical stripes are a spring staple, but fashion houses have taken the familiar pattern to a louder level this year. seen on runways were bright, graphic stripes that do more than inspire a trip to Cape Cod. they are eye-catching and bold… way beyond the prep we usually attribute to spring stripes. adopt some candy colors and big statements this season for a sassy spring wardrobe.HaleyNordPhotography (51 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (44 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (29 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (43 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (35 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (47 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (40 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (31 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (32 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (36 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (30 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (41 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (50 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (34 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (42 of 100) HaleyNordPhotography (48 of 100)dress: Free People
