Curvy Fitness Style Staples

You all know I've always promoted working out as a way to stay happy and healthy! I'm curvy, I love my Oreos, but I also truly love getting in a good sweat. It took me most of my life to find the types of workouts I truly enjoy, instead of "punishing' my body by staying on a treadmill for X amount of time {truly despise treadmills now!!!!}. As an adult I love spin classes, I love going for long stroller walks with my little family, I love a HIIT class in the comfort of my own home, and I love an ab, arm, or booty challenge. Basically, I feel most comfortable working out either at home or outside. While I was a frequent SoulCycler when we lived in San Francisco {love a dark workout room!}, there's truly nothing I love more than my Peloton {review coming soon!}. I can put in my earphones and get lost in the class and beat and sweat of it all!

That being said, I know it's hard to find really good {and I mean really good} workout clothes as a curvy gal. I spent years constantly pulling up my leggings, pulling down shorts that would bunch up, or yanking off a too-tight and super sweaty sports bra. But, I've done all the homework for you, and today I'm sharing my very favorite workout outfits! I'm breaking them down by category below, as well as sharing the sizes I wear. If you have any faves of your own, please add them in the comments! I'd love to check them out.

I also spent years wearing old, dingy workout clothes to workout {you know the ones... old college tees, leggings or shorts with holes or paint splatters, etc.}. As I've gotten older, I truly believe that new workout gear helps motivate me! When I look good, I feel good. And you best believe I'm dying to get a spin in when I have a brand spankin' new outfit I feel amazing in!

Sports Bras:
There is nothing worse than trying to get off a sweaty sports bra. Add being a curvy or plus-size gal + having large boobs and it's a nightmare LOL. This sports bra is my very fave {more sizes in-stock here}! I loveeeee that it clasps in the back like a normal bra, so there's zero yanking involved. It's supportive, but not restrictive. The straps can criss-cross in the back or be worn normal. I have it in every color! This sports bra comes in sizes xs-xl and 1x-3x. It always sells out fast when restocked, so be sure to snag it if you see your size! I have the bra in both large and xl sizes, and both work great since the clasp is adjustable.

If you're looking for a regular sports bra that doesn't clasp, I love this high-neck one and wear the size 12!

Tank Tops:
When I wear a tank top, I prefer ones that also have bra cups already in them, so I don't have to double up! My favorite cropped tank top {I wear the size 12} is soooo soft, but not super supportive. I wear this for stroller walks and light exercise. I have spun with it on before, but your boobs will be hanging out haha. My favorite tank top for more intense workouts is this one! It's longer and very form fitting. I feel like it sucks me in and smooths! I wear the size 12 in this also. I know it says light support for b/c cup, but as a 38D I find it very supportive! I also loved that it's ribbed. Now, my favorite budget-friendly tank top with bra cups is this one! I wear the xl and love all the colors it comes in. It also sucks me in!

Tees:
Truth be told, I don't wear tees much while working out! I prefer to workout in just a sports bra or tank with built-in bra. But, if I'm going for an athleisure look, this is my favorite tee and I wear the size large}. I love that it's long, soft, and v neck. I also like to throw on a cropped tee over my leggings when running errands! I have some from Nike, lululemon, Target, etc.

Leggings:
I have two very favorite leggings: the Align and the Wunder Under. The Align are super soft and I prefer to wear them for athleisure or light exercise. I size down to the 10 in them, and these leggings now go up to size 20! The Wunder Unders are more compression and I wear them for more intense exercising {spin, HIIT, etc.}. I also size down to the 10 in these! Since I'm only 5'5, I like the 25" length for both leggings. These leggings are GAME changers. I've tried lots of dupes and nothing {I repeat, nothing} quite compares to the quality. Plus, they are always being released in fun and seasonal colors/patterns.

Shorts:
As a curvy gal, I never liked working out in shorts. Because of my thicker thighs, shorts would always bunch up and cause chaffing. However, biker shorts are the solution! I loveeeee that this "trend" was everywhere the past year or so, and now I'm hooked on wearing biker shorts most of the year here in Arizona. My two favorite leggings above come in biker shorts {Align shorts here and Wunder Under here} and I lived in them the past six months {hottest months here in AZ!}. I wore the 6" Aligns every morning for our stroller walks, and now that it's cooling down, I've been wearing the 10" shorts. For spinning or working out at home, I've loved the 6" Wunder Unders!

For a more budget friendly biker shorts, I love and have these! I wear the size large.

Dresses/Skirts:
This year, I took up tennis lessons as a new hobby and skill to learn! It's been fun! I took some of the summer off, but I'm excited to get back at it since it's cooling down here in Arizona. Tennis outfits are by far the cutest workout outfit IMO. This is my favorite tennis dress {I own it in a few colors and wear the size large, but you do need to wear your own spanx underneath. I also own this skirt in a few colors {size xl} and this skirt {size 12} in a few colors, too!

Outerwear:
I don't workout outside when it's really cold personally, BUT I do love a lot of athleisure jackets! This jacket is fitted, comes in sizes 0-20, and not too heavy. I also have the hooded version! In both I wear the size 12. I just ordered this down jacket {size 12}, so I'll let you know how it is! I do own the vest version and love it with a fitted long sleeve underneath. I also have this cozy oversized sweatshirt {size down, I take the 10!}. I also just snagged this super soft sherpa jacket, but size down at least two sizes!

Shoes:
My favorite athleisure/running errands tennis shoes are the Saucony Stretch and Go! This is an updated version of the couple of pairs that I own, but they are sooo comfy and I love that you just slip them on. You all know I love a good Air Force 1s as well for more of an athleisure look {they run large, size down half a size}.

As for actually working out, I have Peloton spin shoes for riding my bike, these Nike Tennis shoes for playing tennis, and other Nike styles for HIIT, running, etc. Robbie's entire family is all big into running, so he would recommend Saucony running shoes for serious runners!

Hats/Visors:
I loveeee wearing hats and visors when working out! I usually opt for a low ponytail {unless I'm spinning} and either a hat or visor for workouts that aren't inside. I love these, these, and these.
